Non-governmental organisations, the FOL Movement, IKD, the Association of Journalists of Kosovo, and jurist Kosari have released a joint communiqué following monitoring that has made the process of interviewing candidates for RTK's Bord, and have concluded that the process of selecting members of the RTK Board is compromised.
The communique says the process does not meet even the minimum standards of assessment.
After monitoring the process of selecting members of the Kosovo Radio Television Board, we appreciate that this process is openly compromised, which the process does not meet the minimum standards through which the names of the RTK Board members should be recommended. The lack of basic standards of transparency, equality and procedural regularity are the main reasons for compromising this process. Therefore, we recommend that the candidates elected by the Ad Hoc Commission not be prosecuted for voting in the plenary session”, said in response.
“We assess that the process has failed for the following reasons: insisting on the deputies of the Vetevendosje Movement that this process be completed within a short term and insufficient time available, disorderly organisation as a result of the time pressure, violating equal treatment of candidates, vague and transparent methodology, especially with the decision that the appointment of candidates should not take place after each interview, as well as avoiding standards set in 2021 during the process of recruiting members of the RTK-11x> the response continues. /Periscope
