Ebola epidemic in Congo exceeds 500 victims, WHO: disturbing situation in the region

The number of victims from Ebola's explosion in the Democratic Republic of Congo has exceeded 500, according to the latest data published by the World Health Organisation (OBSH), based on local health authorities' information.
According to O report On July 4th, 506 victims and 1,561 confirmed cases of infection have been recorded in RD, Congo.
Meanwhile, 20 confirmed cases and only two victims have been reported in neighboring Uganda, showing a more limited spread of the disease in this country.
Health authorities announce that the current explosion in the RD of Congo has been officially announced 15 May and represents Ebola's 17th explosion in the country. According to WHO, it is caused by the Bundibugyo variant, which currently does not exist a vaccine or specific treatment.
Ebola is a dangerous viral disease that causes bleeding fever and has caused more than 15,000 casualties in Africa over the past five decades. The worst explosion in the RD of Congo remains that of 2018,2020, when some 3,500 cases and some 2,300 victims were recorded. /Panorama
