Backs of Kurti-Abdijik meetings, Haziri: LDK insists on president

But, according to LDK Deputy Chairman Lutfi Haziri, this subject will not propose anyone, unless a bilateral deal is made public or not.

The former mayor of Gjilan, whose name has also been mentioned as the possible candidate for state president, said the LDK does not have the vote for Vetevendosje's nominees, while adding that even opportunities for a consensus name that would include all parties.

If we speak of a consensual name, it is now seen that all possibilities for Kosovo to give an opportunity through a consensual name that includes all political parties and all ethnic groups eventually. At this stage, of course, an LDK-LVV agreement is being discussed. This is the only political commitment the LDK has in relation to LVV to find the best opportunity to elect the president of the Republic. The LDK-LVV agreement is about the LDK-LVV agreement, it doesn't work beyond us. We're not going out to make a deal with Vetevendosje Movement to give someone else a name. We're invited to find a chance that gave me the name for president. We were invited. We didn't invite them to a meeting. We're invited and we've attended every meeting and are attending every meeting. I wish this delay in electing the president to pass as soon as possible so as to see if the country is going to the polls again, because these elections are a warning to the next” elections, he says.

According to him, the LDK insists that at its chief's meetings with Kurti, it should be talked about finding a solution to the president's drive, in which his party plays a central role.

Haziri implied that in these negotiations, besides the president's case, co-operation with Vetevendosje should be expanded for co-governance

It's our responsibility to propose what we represent. That we have at least witnessed in political life that our proposals are loanable, are representatives, even above all, authorities that honor the country and the Republic. On the other hand, we have seen these five years and the policy that has been made, commitments about political developments that have occurred. Because we're not talking right now that Mr. Kurti has three institutions behind him. Mr. Kurt has the three institutions so far. And it has proved that one man and one party is insufficient in the face of what the Republic has and what regional development now has. Whether he or Mr. Kurti or anyone else can't face it, so cooperation needs to be expanded, either for political processes or for co-governance. Because if you don't agree on co-governance, eventually you have to deal with political processes. We're not invited to co-government”, he adds.

Haziri said that at up-to-date meetings Kurti-Abdijku, the first has not asked the second to propose any candidate for president. According to him, such a thing will only be done if agreement is reached in principle with the Vetevendosje Movement.

Why didn't we ever talk about a name? We haven't been asked a name. At any meeting we haven't talked about concrete names. No, this is a game of words, bro. This is a game of words, as soon as the opposition says let's come up with a proposal, we have another proposal, who is... I'm pulling it back, but there's another proposal. This is the game of words in politics. It is a step of commitment to make public guilt in Kosovo. It's not a choice. There is no need for Kosovo to play words after. If there is political will to make political solution, it has to sit down, with one, two, three, four or five partners to solve problems. Right now the solution is with one, alone. LDK. There are two, there are three, there are four. Even in this case, it's not good to play words, as soon as the opposition says, you propose”, Haziri points out.

The question of whether Lumir Abdixhiku is the LDK's potential candidate for president, Haziri responded by saying that in LDK it is political culture that the process has led the mayor.

“in official office and according to representation, the LDK chairman is the LDK's top representative. When it comes to issues and such decisions, I, as one of my deputy speakers or colleagues in the leadership, or all those who represent something today, are the ones who talk about representation through the LDK chairman. We have political culture. But it's not on the level yet or we haven't come in time when we talk about a name. When we meet and say we have a deal, the agreement requires this role and we are entering. We usually take great care not to bend aside names before something happens to me. The deal doesn't, we have to, we're aware, we target the possible. The possible is only if a deal is reached. If there is no agreement, then why would you be luring names”, he declares.

The LDK deputy chairman denied that in the talks Abdixhiku- Kurti were discussed other scenarios that improvise the position of the chief parliament. According to him, if it enters these negotiations, then the prime minister's post is also at stake.

We have not held talks to change representation, with the whole geopolitical, the Parliament, the president, the government eventually. Why not the government if the Assembly can be opened? Do you include the post of prime minister? Yes, of course, when it enters such talks even on the president's issues and gives the Assembly, then the government can also be given, so it's a question that I don't now play words, but our role is in talks for the president of the Republic and the Parliament must give a solution to”, he adds.

He declares that the LDK is not engaged in new elections until it shows whether they can be solutions.

“We can't have two standards. Either we are in talks to give the country president, or we are not in talks. With the fact that the LDK is in talks with the country given president, it does not work for elections. We're not working for elections. We're working on giving the country solutions. To the point of agreement or failure. But the situation cannot be judged. There may be big changes. The world is changing, it's not just changing in a negative way. You also see the shock of the civic movement in Hungary. It has it then, there are extremely large developments and impacts, because pro-European currents and centre-right parties, and liberal ones in particular, are gaining ground more”, said LDK Deputy Chairman Lutfi Haziri.
