New decision on derivatives from Kusari-Lila: Maximum oil price 1.91 euros per litre

Mimoza Kusari-Lila has announced that the decision has been made to continue the safeguard clause for oil products used in transport, aimed at protecting consumers and maintaining fair competition in the market.

According to her, the decision was signed on April 3rd 2026, published in the Official Journal and entered into force on April 4th.

Based on current data, the maximum price of oil in the market should not exceed 1.91 euros per litre, while gas 1.44 euros per litre. Meanwhile, the maximum margin allowed for sale remains up to 2 cents per litre in majority and up to 12 cents per litre in the minority.

The minister stressed that there will be increased supervision by relevant institutions, including the Market Inspectorate, Customs and Tax Administration, in co-operation with the Competition Authority.

It called on economic operators to implement the decision, warning punitive measures for any offense, including retroactive penalties.

I inform you that yesterday I have signed the decision to continue determining the safeguard clause for oil products used in transport, with the aim of protecting consumers and ensuring fair and fair competition on the local market.
The decision was made on 03.04.2026, published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Kosovo and entered into force today on April 04th, 2026.
According to the ruling in effect and according to current data:
• Oil has entered the customs at the price of 1.77 euros per litre, while with excises and VAT can be sold no more than 1.91 euros per litre.
• Benzina has entered the customs by 1.30 euros per litre, while no more than 1.44 euros per litre can be sold on the local market.
With this set maximum allowed trading decision remains as follows:
• Major sales: up to 2 eurocents per litre
• Retail sale: up to 12 eurocents per litre
The decision envisions increased supervision by the Market Inspectorate, in co-operation with Kosovo Customs and Kosovo Tax Administration, as well as close co-ordination with the Competition Authority.
I call on all economic operators to respect this decision. Any violations will be addressed with punitive measures, including retroactive penalties by the Kosovo Market Inspectorate and Tax Administration.
