“This is a step in the right direction”, Guterres has stated, stressing that the UN position remains clear about the complete return of international navigation freedoms to this strategic area.
He has also voiced hope that this decision, along with the ceasefire, will contribute to building confidence between the parties and strengthening the diplomatic efforts mediated by Pakistan.
