This meeting was held immediately after the PDK's chairmanship meeting, where attitudes were taken regarding the president's election process.
Hamza said at a media conference that four days remain until the end of the constitutional deadline for the president's election, and that the responsibility is for the Vetevendosje Movement.
The responsibility for this process is clear and unequivocal: it belongs to the largest party and the parliamentary majority leading the country. Those with the mandate to govern also have the obligation to ensure the election of President”, he said.
He said the PDK has acted with caution and responsibility.
“We have removed red lines because I have always considered them harmful to the consolidation of institutions and the political stability of the country. We have never ruled out the possibility of a comprehensive political agreement if it served to avoid new elections and preserve the country's stability. We went to meetings to discuss a consensual president”, he said.
Chairman The PDK has said it has accepted its first meeting with Kurti on the president's issue, with the sincere conviction that there was a will for a unifying figure, for a member of the Jashar PDK's emblems family, which would represent national unity and have full PDK support.
After the Jashar family public statement, Hamza has said the circumstances changed.
This day, at the second meeting I had with Mr. The cure for this issue, after the gathering of party leadership during the day, as the PDK also offered a concrete and final opportunity to avoid new elections: we asked that a president proposed by the PDK be elected as a solution to guarantee institutional stability and overcoming political stalemate. With this offer, made in a spirit of responsibility and not leaving the country in unnecessary crisis, the PDK's leadership estimates that our contribution to this process is fulfilled”, Hamza said.
He has added that two months have passed since the December 28th elections and more than two weeks since government vote Kurti 3, leaving only four days until the end of the constitutional deadline for the president's election.
In this context of time, it is legitimate to ask whether last-minute meetings are under way to actually find a solution, or to artificially narrow the time, so that the pressure can be shifted to the opposition. Such an approach would be inappropriate for such an important process, which is directly related to political stability and the normal functioning of domestic institutions”, it has added.
Hamza has confirmed that it now remains to be seen whether Mr. Hamza and Mr. Kurti in particular will seriously reflect on avoiding the country's new elections, or whether our willingness and constructiveity will be treated as opportunities to shift responsibility, not as the basis for a literal solution. I wish I could dominate it by”, he said.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo, as Hamza has said, has witnessed what a responsible opposition should witness: it has shown political will, participation in meetings, clear positions and readiness for solutions to the interests of the country's stability.
He has said that the parliamentary majority now has a clear PDK position.
“We cannot and will not take upon ourselves responsibilities that do not belong to us. We can't cover your lack of numbers. We cannot compensate for the lack of decision-making. And we cannot replace the parliamentary majority. We're the opposition. And we will act as opposition: critical when public and clear interest is violated when we try to shift responsibilities”, Hamza said, adding that neither today nor tomorrow are the obstacles to state processes.
The responsibility for producing results falls on the government and most of it, because the opposition has a controlling role, not a rescue role”, he said.
At the end of his speech, Hamza has said that Kosovo needs president, functional institutions and stability, but above all, there is a need for a parliamentary majority that keeps the burden of responsibility away from short term calculations and political games.
“The PDK will continue to be a serious, responsible and steadfast opposition to the state's interest. We did our part. And from today, the responsibility lies only with those who rule. Those who gain civic confidence and have the opportunity to reach consensus should not misuse them”, Hamza has finished. /Periscope/
