He has confirmed that the Government of Kosovo intended to take over management of these games.
The government told us it was working in a new law on the Mediterranean Games. I have expected that new Mediterranean Games law to enable rapid development of infrastructure for the Mediterranean Games. It was a goal to manage by the Government, [but] it did not meet the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games” HINA stated Rama at a news conference.
He has acknowledged that 10 months have been lost without working properly for the organisation of these games, thus confirming the warning the International Mediterranean Games Committee has given Kosovo.
Among other things in a response to Government, this committee has said that required documentations should be completed as soon as possible and that the deadline for functioning the Mediterranean Games Organising Committee of Pristina 2030 is September 8th 2024.
Now we're back at the table, I hope we'll be looking at this case very soon. We've made plans and we're still working. Unfortunately, we have a 10-month lost, which has a much more constructive way of using it, but I hope we don't have that problem from now on” Rama added.
