However, as the NZZ reports, Kosovo's citizens have in vain hoped that this would soon happen, since Western Kosovo allies want to first see the preliminary work. According to the NZZ, such an attitude of allies is “demonstrateers of Kosovo's loss of trust”.
In Pristina, people in vain hoped they would soon join the Council of Europe. Western allies want to see preliminary work first. This is an indication of the loss of trust to Kosovo”, writes Neue Zurcher Zeitung.
The NZZ in this article cites the initial condition of allies that Kosovo implement the Decani Monastery land and then conditioning made by Germany, France and Italy to make tangible steps towards establishing the Association of Serb Major municipalities.
All this, according to the NZZZ, is an indication that the West has lost trust in Kosovo and that the foreign ministries of these countries are convinced that Prime Minister Albin Kurti moves only under great pressure.
“Episode is an indication of the loss of Western confidence in Pristina. Foreign ministries are convinced that Albin Kurti moves only under great pressure. The association of municipalities actually does not concern the Council of Europe, but is the subject of negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia. The West definitely wants to make progress there”, writes Swiss newspaper.
