The head of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Group (AAK), which is part of the Kosovo delegation in the Kosovo membership process of the Council of Europe, has shown that the next two days are very important for Kosovo.
He has said that tonight as a delegation, he is continuing his journey to Kosovo in Strasbourg, pointing to the agenda for April 15th and 16th.
There are two days, Monday and Tuesday when there will be votes in the committees and in the Parliamentary Assembly, there are two historic days”, he has declared.
Below the Bislim clarification for the Kosovo process on 15 April and 15 April for membership in the Council of Europe.
Day 1:
On Monday, April 15, 2024, at 2:00-15 p.m., the Committee for Equality and Do not discriminate, at the fourth point of the agenda will discuss the report on Kosovo's application to the APK. Also, the same day, on the Committee for Legal Affairs and Human Rights will discuss the Kosovo application report to the APEC.
Day 2:
On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the Parliamentary Assembly meeting is held. This spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is of historic importance. This day, sometime around 1600, will be a debate on Kosovo's application to the Council of Europe. This session will discuss Mrs. Dora Bakoyannis, who must receive 2/3 of the votes of the present members.
The Parliamentary Assembly has 46 member states with a total of 302 members plus 306 substitutes. There are 34 countries that have known us, and 14 that have not known us. If the vote is successful, the same report will be prosecuted at the Committee of Ministers, which will be held on 16 May and 17 May 2024.
Also, on Tuesday 10:30-12:30, the Committee for Policy and Democracy in Hall 9, will discuss the advisory report on Kosovo's application to the Council of Europe, which the rapporteur for Kosovo will speak about. Bakoyannis. Two other reports of two committees that have helped draft consultative opinion will be presented at this meeting.
The voting process as a whole will be challenging, some countries like Spain and others have spoken out against our membership, but I believe this time we will triumph, since the support of friendly countries is inconsistent as the delegation's engagement has been continuous and very unique and serious.
