Germany's federal police have arrested a couple at Dortmund Airport on Wednesday. In August 2009, the Regional Court of Stutgart had sentenced the Kosovo couple to six years and six months in prison for kidnapping.
The Stutgart Public Prosecutor's Office has issued a warrant for the arrest of 60-year-old and his 63-year-old wife, reports t-onlineKlankosova broadcast.tv.
“Wednesday afternoon, the couple -- who were being accompanied by their eight-year-old niece -- tried to pass through customs officials after their flight from Pristina. The fingerprint scan confirmed the identity of couple”, federal police said Wednesday.
Since the elderly had suffered only part of their prison sentence, they now have to suffer the rest of the prison sentence.
The elderly called their 34-year-old son in Recklinghausen. According to police, he took his niece to custody after consultations with the youth welfare office. The cops then sent the couple to a correctional center.
