Ten days before the start of the education process, the Ministry of Education announced that it has failed to reach agreements with publishing houses for book purchases, while accusing those offering higher prices than those they have placed in their libraries.
Earlier in the day, publishing representatives told him TIMES have not yet supplied libraries with textbooks.
The Ministry's announcement days ago prompted major public reactions. Opposition parties called for her resignation, saying the nomination constitutes inability to manage the education system.
It is the first time that after 15 years, parents will be forced to buy their own texts, but with the Ministry's remuneration. So far the state carried out all these procedures itself.
Minister Arberie Nagavci had on Monday accused publishing houses of offering high book prices. After that indictment, the Public House “Dukagini” said they submitted an offer of 4 percent cheaper than the previous year.
Shukri Klinku, owner of the publishing house “Laguas”, has told TIME that Nagavci lied since this year's company has not participated in the tender, due to the procedure delays by the ministry.
