Serbian nationalist propaganda through culture, sports and film

Cultural and sports organisations in nationalist choirs, all prior to that, are not random. Exploring nationalist and racist choreographers on Serbian sports, cultural and musical grounds is part of the orchestrated engagement of the current political regime in Serbia. All these hateful approaches to all non-Serbs in the Western Balkans are maintained and treated carefully and structured. Propaganda through culture, sports, Serbian music film maintains nationalist emotion, which is not that it is not in the tradition of Serbian political thinking, but it also energizes the Serbian state's leadership regime.

In 2019, Serbia's Culture Minister and Serbian entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina had signed a Charter aimed at orientation and preservation of Serbian culture, reportedly Serbian cultural space. Serbian cultural space means space where the Serbian people have lived or lived for a long period of history, leaving traces of material and non-material cultural heritage, either within the borders or outside the limits of their state creation. In other words, it is not possible to reduce the borders of cultural spaces at the borders of a single political or state space”, the Charter for Serbian Cultural Space explains in its second article, the entire involvement of Serbian cultural engagement. The core charter's establishment is to treat all Serbs living outside Serbia as part of a single Serb, ethnically and cultural body. The clear range of ideas continues to be that of the Serbian Great Project, which aims to unite all Serbs. The Charter supports and empowers the preservation and interpretation of the culture of the Serbian people, in Serbia and Republika Srpska, in the region and in diaspora or emigration, from Trebinje and Herceg-Novi in Subotic and Vrsac, from Vranja and Gracanica in Banja Luka. According to the Charter, Serbian culture “will be developed in its values and traditions, in the field of contemporary creativity and in the field of preservation, study and presentation of cultural heritage”. The spirit of this Carte's ideas as official and orientation documents are not new. They are present in the Serbian historical and political discourse for decades, except that Aleksandar Vuciqi's state regime gives state coverage and foundation. On this coverage, the Serbian state has also committed itself to caring for Cyrillic writing, which it legally protects. In 2021, Serbia's Popular Assembly had passed the law on the protection of Serbian language and Cyrillic writing, through which the circle of acts and subjects, which are obliged to use Cyrillic writing. Now, culture, language and Cyrillic in Serbia's official documents are treated as a matter of national security. This is also understood by “The Republic of Serbia's national security strategy”.

In resolution with this charter, Serbia's Popular Assembly, years ago it approved “The Cultural Development Strategy of the Republic of Serbia 2020-2029”. This document would regulate the mode of Serbian Cyrillic language storage and the interconnection of Serbian cultural space”. The strategy provides ideological guidelines for cultural products, which will strongly be supported by Serbia's Ministry of Culture. Shortly after the approval of this strategy and in the spirit of the Serbian Cultural Space Charter, the film “Dama was produced by Jasnovci”, which portrays Serbian suffering caused by others. International professional criticism of the film was a convenient moment for the regime to portray Serbs as those who resent others and do not love them. The scenario was honoured by President Aleksandar Vuciq with the Order of Third Star Karadjurgy, this presidential medal. There is the same commitment in sports. And not only the promotion of the fans, but also the athletes directly, of all the calibres. Tenniser Novak Djokovic is the inspiration of the model of how it is promoted in the accounts of nationalist and racist policies, but that within the political body of Alexander Vuciqiq's regime is considered a national act. The consequence of this order is the fact that the international factor, after the collapse of Slobodan Milosevic's genocide regime, does not condition Serbia enough or at all, on the rule of deancing Serbian political thinking, despite the circumstances it had created.
