The European Union's special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has said the March agreement in Ohrid was a historic moment for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia, the newspaper Express writes.
He said in an interview for the Austrian newspaper “Kurier”, he said that there are obstacles on the road, citing April elections, these held in four Serb-run municipalities.
The March Agreement is a milestone in normalising relations between Serbia and Kosovo. We know exactly what to do. But there's a lot of “landmine” along this road that we shouldn't step on. The April local elections were one and unfortunately we have violated them”, he said.
Furthermore, Lakcak said that the EU's focus currently is on managing the crisis, not normalisation.
Our actual focus is not on normalisation, but on managing crisis”, he said further.
