Then, again, she worked as a judge until 1987, when she was singled out as well as the majority of Albanian workers on the part of Milosevic's regime.
He was one of the co-founders of the Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms in Pristina and one of the top Democratic League of Kosovo officials.
After the war, between January 2000 and November 2001, has been co-directing the UNMIK Justice Department. In addition to the MP's post, she was also the minister of justice in the Government of Kosovo. Kelmendi has also participated in the expert group under the Unity Team in negotiations on Kosovo's status, as well as in the group of experts for drafting the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.
