In this communiqué KFOR has clarified that KFOR commander is the primary authority for Kosovo airspace, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
They also stress that Kosovo's high air space could be used to fly over Kosovo from one country to another aircraft that carried out commercial flights.
Meanwhile, KFOR points out that low air space can be used for specific needs, case by case and under the preliminary authorisation of KFOR commander.
These clarifications by KFOR concerning the exploitation of Kosovo airspace come at a time when the Republic of Kosovo has made the purchase of five drones from Turkey type “Bayraktar”.
