Vuciq claimed yesterday there was a telephone conference with senior adviser at the State Department, Derek Schole, US special envoy Gabriel Escobar and Ambassador Hill.
The situation is very difficult and tense, especially in northern Kosovo. I am asking the Serbs to maintain peace, because they will never be accepted as mayors. This is an act of violence against Serbs and an attempt to create an atmosphere in which they will be forced to flee their homes”, Vuciq said.
Asked to comment on people who have come from Kosovo's north to Belgrade and the planned rally for 26 May, the president has publicly thanked them.
“Thank you for attention and respect, it wasn't hard for these people to walk away, they know what the real situation is like, how difficult it is and how hard the leadership of the state fought. My message to them is that “We will fight together so that our people in Kosovo can survive and preserve our Constitution. And as I'm concerned about what's going to happen tomorrow, I'd rather not tell you”, Vuciq said.
