Bedri Hamza is expected to testify today in the case of “53 million-like”

Bedri Hamza, former finance minister, incumbent Mitrovica municipality head, is expected to be heard today in the quality of the witness in the case known as “53m euros' row”, where former Minister of Infrastructure Paul Lekaj, Eset Berisha, his senior political adviser, Nehbi Shatri, former secretary general at the Ministry of Infrastructure <0> and Besimi Tahiri, []
At the latest session in this case, Bajram Hasani, former Trade and Industry Minister, has stated that unless these 53m euros were paid, Kosovo would later have to pay 200m to 300m euros.
Otherwise, even at the initial session held on May 4, 2022, Lekaj and others had declared themselves innocent of the criminal offense.
The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) on February 4th, 2022, filed charges against Paul Lekaj, Eset Berisha and Nebih Shatri.
And on February 19, 2022, The PSRK announced that in this regard, on February 18th, an indictment has also been filed against Besim Tahiri.
According to the indictment filed on 4 February 2022 by the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo, Paul Lekaj, in the quality of the Ministry of Infrastructure Minister (MI), Eset Berisha, his senior political adviser, Nohbi Shatri, as secretary-general in this ministry, in co-operation and deliberately and even with defendant Besim Tahiri, director of Public Procurement in MI, are accused of misuse of official office.
