Regmi Mustaf: Kosovo Serbs lack symmetry in agreement for Albanians in Presevo Valley

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq agreed on Saturday to implement the agreement towards normalising their relations, supported by the EU. However, the Serbian side refused to officially sign the agreement.

Both Kurti and Vuciq agreed that its implementation will begin soon.

The chairman of the Albanian National Council for the Presevo Valley, Ragmi Mustaf, has spoken of Front Online.

He said the last meeting between the two sides has reconfirmed that the two states are subject to international relations.

He says the symmetry is lacking in the agreement for Albanians of the Presevo Valley with Serbs.

“The meeting between Vuchiq and Kurti resulted in a “Anax Zabating” Agreement on the Path of Normalisation of Relations. I hope to open up the Euro-Atlantic perspective for Kosovo. For one thing, the recognition of the four non-recognition states and Kosovo's NATO membership. The agreement lacks symmetry for Albanians living in the Presevo Valley with Serbs and Kosovo. This meeting has reconfirmed that Kosovo and Serbia are independent states and subject to international relations”, Mustafi said.

And when Mustaf is asked that this agreement has been agreed to by Prime Minister Kurti, Zajednica, he thus answers.

“What and where this meeting will lead, with the standards and regulation of the minorities' single management. Because I consider that states such as Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, as well as Sandzak Bosniaks and Albanians in the Presevo Valley will seek to be valuable even to these non-plete communities in Serbia. Because there is no reason for Serbia to refuse while insisting on the Serb community in Kosovo”, Mustaf says.

Mustaf: Implementation of agreement between Kosovo and Serbia depends on European perspective

The head of the Albanian National Council in Serbia, Ragmi Mustafi, said implementation of the agreement between the two states depends on the European perspective.

The agreement will be implemented in practice as far as European prospects are open, however, the speed of integration into the European Union of Kosovo and Serbia”, Mustafi stressed.

He says that with the deal agreed, Kosovo has confirmed the Euro-Atlantic orientation.

Kosovo has confirmed state capacity and international subjectivity as well as clear Euro-Atlantic orientation. On the other hand, a slight secession of Serbia is seen by Russia's” influence, Mustaf said.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, after the agreement, has declared that public reconciliation has been reached with Serbia for an annex that will guide the implementation of the basic agreement. He said mutual recognition de-facto is in the basic agreement.

While the country's president, Vjosa Osmani, has said of the agreement reached that Kosovo testified to be the only side in the dialogue that proved constructive and interested in peace and stability.

US envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar has welcomed reaching the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia and has said this agreement not only opens the door for European integration but also for regional peace.

And, EU Chief of Foreign Policy Josep Borrell, has said that Saturday's goal was for Kosovo and Serbia to agree to how to implement the agreement agreed on February 27th, but according to him, the question was how to apply, what to do and what to do until it should be done.
