Hungarian Foreign Minister in Tirana: We oppose sanctions for Serbia

“We usually oppose sanctions because if you look back you won't find any sanctions regime to succeed. Setting sanctions does not only harm those against whom the sanctions are imposed, but also others who impose them. It's the same with sanctions against Russia. They are more harmful to us than to the Russians, so why should we impose sanctions on a country that plays a key role throughout the region”, he said, broadcasts RTSH.
The Hungarian minister says without a stabilised Serbia, there will be no stabilised Western Balkans, so instead of sanctions, Szijjarto seeks to resume dialogue.
Hungary maintains that dialogue, according to him, should happen to leaders of the Western Balkans.
“I think the progress achieved by Prime Minister Rama and President Vuciq through their relations, among the contacts they have, was impressive and I hope both leaders and both countries will further build a strong friendship between Serbia and Albania. This strong friendship could serve as a good basis for the Western Balkans to develop further”, the Hungarian minister for rtesh said.
Szijjarto is located in Tirana present at the Ministerial, which will be held under the Berlin Process.
Following the event recorded on September 24th in northern Kosovo, where an armed Serb group attacked the Kosovo Police, taking the lives of effective Africa Bulnjak, Kosovo, Albania and Croatia, have asked the EU to impose sanctions on Serbia.
So far there is no firm decision by the EU, while it has been declared that the request will be taken into account.
