Government with communiqué: Kurti in Brussels called for Serbia to sign Brussels, Ohrid Annex Agreement

After the meeting in Brussels, the Kosovo government has come out with a communique for media.

According to this communique, Prime Minister Kurti has been willing to sign the agreed and agreed agreement today in Brussels and Ohrid.

Kurti at the meeting with European leaders has reminded them that it was Vuciq who has refused to sign the agreed agreement.

The Republic of Kosovo has accepted the Constitutional Brussels Agreement on February 27th 2023 and the Ohrid Implementation Annex 18 March 2023. These agreed documents are a joint success with the European Union. The agreement must be implemented in all, unconditionally, without delay.

At today's meeting, with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, with France's President Emmanuel Macron, Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Melon, European Council President Charles Michel, European Commission Vice President and High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell, as well as his emissar Miroslav Lajcak, Prime Minister Kurti thanked them all for the role, commitment and contribution to peace and normalisation of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Serbia.

Prime Minister Kurti stressed that, after the attack on the 24 September aggression in Zvecan, the priority for it is security in Kosovo, in particular the security of the border with Serbia, since paramilitarys who carried out terrorist and criminal attacks by killing and wounding Kosovo police. For this never to happen again, sanctions and punishment are needed for Serbia.

Investigations of Serbia-sponsored paramilitary and terrorist group must correctly determine who did everything and how the act of aggression carried out, while there are no more dilemmas in international factors on the guilty.

Prime Minister Kurti added that Kosovo is a champion in the rule of law in the Western Balkans, which has also been outlined by prestigious international organisation World Justice Project. Milan Radocic's paramilitary terrorist group and other responsibilities should be extradited to Kosovo, where there would be a fair and fair trial, much more when it is known that the justice system in Kosovo and judicial processes are monitored by the European Union's Mission for Rule of Law, EULEX.

Prime Minister Kurti recalled that he was willing to sign both in Brussels on February 27th 2023 and in Ohrid on March 18th 2023, even tonight, on October 26, 2023, stressing that the exact European Council summit in Brussels is the right event, in the right place for signing the Basque Agreement, including the draft offered by the EU and the US for implementation of Article 7 in connecting to Article 10 of the Basic Agreement. Despite this genomous offer by Prime Minister Kurti, the president of Serbia, Vucic, has refused to sign an agreement with Kosovo, and has demanded that a later letter be accepted, with which he practically unscrew three principles of the Base Agreement, the Anex of Implementation, as well as the draft proposed by five emissaries on October 21st 2023.

For its democratic and economic progress, Prime Minister Kurti said that Kosovo deserves candidate status for the EU -- that is, the union of the remaining five European Union states with the majority of 22 points -- in recognising Kosovo's independence. Meanwhile, border security for Kosovo, along with collective security in the Western Balkans region, is raised particularly through the Partnership for Peace Agreement with NATO towards Kosovo's membership in the north-Atlantic alliance.

At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti said: Accession implies signing, only signing means accession and guarantees implementation.
