Murati for increasing property tax bills blames former government Mustafa of Haradinaj

Finance, Labour and Transfers Minister Iron Murati has said the decision to raise property tax bills is unjustly trying to further government. According to him, this decision was made in the Mustafa government, but it has entered into force at the time with executive Ramush Haradinaj leading. Murati has explained [...]
Murati has explained Friday at a media conference that most of the increase in property tax bills is generated by land tax.
Murati has said that according to Article 7 of the Law on Property Tax, which entered into force on January 26, 2018, in the fifth year of law enforcement, 100 percent of land taxes are in effect.
The fifth year, according to Murati, was the year 2023, which he claimed was automatically effective.
We need to go back to the law in 2018 on property tax. This law was adopted by the Mustafa government on May 4th, 2017, when the finance minister was Hoti. This law failed to be adopted in the Assembly and come into force because the government had fallen, a week later. The same law has been prosecuted in Haradinaj government, and on January 26th 2018 it has been published in the official newspaper and entered into force”.
This law has set several deadlines and conditions that force institutions to be respected. This law under Article 7 has seen 100 percent of land taxes go into effect in the 5th year of law enforcement. From entry into force, land is also being taxed because once it was just buildings. The year 2023 is when land tax applies to the value of 100 percent, meaning the law must. This law has determined since 2018 that land must be taxed, and much of the increase in bills goes from this tax”, Murati explained.
