Today, on January 23rd in Bistrica in Leposaviqi, a police unit has been assigned to official duty at checkpoints, with the aim of maintaining order and public safety, as well as preventing crime and smuggling.
The police unit, which has been in control during the implementation of police duties, has attempted to stop a car that during the movement has hit the Kosovo Police vehicle, directly risking the lives of police officials who, to neutralise the risk against them, have fired firearms.
Suspects, along with their tool, have left the scene, while investigations concerning the case are under way, in co-operation and co-ordination with justice organs.
In the case, Kosovo Police have also announced the Kosovo Police Inspectorate of further procedures.
