Former Presevo Mayor: Escobar and Lajcak, invite you to meet us Albanians in Serbia

Former Presevo Mayor Ardita Sinani has expressed regret at the US envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar and the EU's special emissary for Kosovo dialogue Serbia, Miroslav Lajcak, for not one of them met Albanian elected in Serbia. Sinan has asked Lajcak of Escobar to be [...]
Sinan has asked Lajcak and Escobar to meet, even to listen to Albanian elected people in Serbia.
“Z. Escobar and Mr. Lajcak, I invite you to meet us, the Albanian elected in Serbia. To hear us. At least”, she wrote.
She said she is understandable to Lajcak's Escobar meeting with the mayors of the four majority Serb municipalities in northern Kosovo, but the lack of meetings with the Presevo Valley of Albanians is not understood.
This approach can even contribute to sending wrong messages to circles that are promoting destabilisation of the security and stability situation in the Western Balkans, as it is now in northern Kosovo”.
“Albanians in the Presevo Valley in particular and those in Serbia in general, as a non-US community, remain discriminated against and oppressed. This is confirmed for decades by the various official reports of European Union institutions and the respective US administration”, Sinan has said, broadcast Clankosova.tv.
In addition, she cited the fact that Presevo Valley as the region, but Albanians in Serbia also face many problems because of the abnormalisation of Kosovo relations Serbia.
Many Albanian graduates of Kosovo universities -- citizens of the Republic of Serbia -- are not recognised diplomas for some 15 years. This is just one of the problems associated with the Kosovo-Serbia reports. Many issues addressed in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue deal directly with the Presevo Valley as the region, and with Serbia's Albanians in general”.
The “is therefore counterproductive in a process of normalising reports between Kosovo and Serbia to include the issue of the non-Serb community of Kosovo, and not even the issue of the non-Albanian community in Serbia”, Sinan wrote, Klankosova accompanying.tv.
She said the involvement of the elected from both sides in the process is in service of Balkan stability, security, Europeanisation and democracy.
