Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi has said that Kosovo is experiencing the worst post-war situation, due to inflation andorm, severe energy reductions, massive price hikes, rising unemployment and youth departure, and lack of public investments.
He has criticised the Government of Kosovo for its lack of extenuating policies in this situation. According to him, the government is instead implementing retaliatory measures against teachers and civil servants, halting their salaries due to the strike.
The Government's decision, Krasniqi, has compared it to the regime's actions at the time of Serbian occupation during the violent measures of the years of BAR90.
“E as citizens question where the government is to take extenuating action, the government acts with retaliatory measures towards teachers and civil servants, halting their salaries because of the strike. Only a government unable to govern and without any vision to address the socio-economic challenges of citizens can be issued in such arbitrary decisions. This sanctioning mentality towards our educators has not been seen or heard in Kosovo since the time of Serbian occupation and violent measures of the years, Krasniqi wrote.
According to Krasniqi, today the finance minister would have to come up with economic measures and concrete initiatives to facilitate all citizens, including civil teachers and servants, meeting with the growing economic depression.
But he went out to play the punishment, the punishment with which Albin Kurt's regime is demonstrating the will to avenge those who refuse to submit and close their eyes, eyes, and ears in the face of this ordeal. With this approach, Albin Kurt's depressive government is trying to usurp the right of civil teachers and servants to live dignifiedly. Neither teachers nor anyone else can be denied that right. Therefore, the solution is dialogue, not revenge”, has further written Krasniqi.
In the end, he has stressed that the face of independent and democratic Kosovo's rule should not be, as he has called the depressive and depressive governance.
The government must fulfil its obligations to teachers and civil servants, as well as put aside this logic blackmail and revanch. This situation requires extenuating measures for the situation, not punitive measures for teachers”, it noted at the end.
At a news conference today, Finance Minister Iron Murati has said that the execution of salaries in the public sector has taken place in part for August, due to delays in processing strikers' lists.
We considered it unfair to go to uniform stops, but we wanted to ask the municipalities to announce to us the free will of participants whether they participated in the strike or not. From these we have seen necessary and reasonable to look at those lists, so we haven't been able to proceed with the payment of wages today”, Murati noted.
