Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj reacted today after publishing social networks by the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta of a picture of Tirana in 1980 and in 2021.
In a post in Twitter, Veliaj says that “to have homesickness for Tirana when it was the city of security boats is your right. But as he welcomed you, he welcomed another 1 million”.

In a published photo comparing Tirana of the years, "80s to Tirana in 2021, Meta expressed: “koha to awake for Tirana to be released and breathe again”.
Earlier, the Tirana City Hall reacted, claiming that in the photo Meta claims to be Tirana of 2021, it is not Tirana, it is much like Kabul.
“With the intention of attacking Mayor Erion Veliaj, Ilir Meta posted today a photo with a view of a town, which he claimed was shot down in Tirana in 2021. But, from a simple Google search shows that the picture dates back to the first time in 2017 by the newspaper “Democratic Renaissance” of Sali Berisha. In addition, the picture most similar to Kabul has no connection with any area in Tirana, and is suspected to have been shot in Skopje about that year”, the municipality stressed.
