Regarding statements by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, that “Pristina is planning to liquidate Serbs in northern Kosovo”, Hill stressed that it wants “Belgrade and Pristina to focus on talks”.
The use of public messages is clear to me, but it is important that they focus on very specific proposals, on the spirit of concessions and compromises”, Hill said.
He noted that this is a serious moment in dialogue and therefore it is important that both sides try to make progress.
“We have a very difficult situation in Ukraine, the conquest of a neighbouring country from Russia with brutality that has not been seen for decades”, praised Hill and stressed that in that situation the EU and the US co-operate very closely.
I hope that Kosovo and Serbia understand this and that both sides cannot play against each other to benefit”.
The “Processions separating Pristina and Belgrade are known. Solutions have been offered and the focus should be on them instead of on public statements”, Hill added.
This was one of the many statements that Hill has given this week, starting with that on Radio Television of Serbia, in which he said that the “Association of Serb Majority municipalities should become part of the” table, which he also took in an online address book that answered citizens' questions.
