Forty percent of Canal immigrants with France and Great Britain are from Albania, according to a secret military intelligence report, the Daily Mail reveals.
A total of 1075 Albanians crossed the small boat canal organised by human trafficking gangs over a six-week period this summer.
A total of 757 Albanians crossed the Channel last year. Albanian gangs are reportedly buying large boats with swells from Chinese factories and are adapting them by urging Chinese firms to make them larger to bring more immigrants aboard.
Experts believe the crossings are being promoted by social media, with smugglers advertising their services in TikTok and paying up to 5,500 pounds per person.
An Albanian police liaison officer will be deployed in Dover to help address the growing problem, but reportedly there is a lack of Albanian translators to help.
