Following 11-year-old rape, Police Director Samedin Mehmeti resigns

The news has been revealed by Interior Minister Jedal Svechla.

Mnistri suggests he has accepted the request for resignation by Samedin Mehmeti after the latest case of 11-year-old rape by five people in Pristina.

Today I have accepted a request to resign from Mr. Samedin Mehmeti director of the Kosovo Police.

This request, according to Mr. Mehmet came after the latest case of 11-year-old rape, for personal and professional reasons.

Prime Minister Kurti has already relieved him of his duty. Mehmeti and has appointed Mr. Director General task manager. Fehmi Hoti, deputy director of the Kosovo Police.

On this occasion, I thank Mr. Mehmeti for the current commitment and good co-operation, as well as I wish him success in the current tasks in the Kosovo Police. /Periscope.
