The Zvecan drug operation, IPK rules a lieutenant and a police official

IPK investigators in consultation with the State Prosecutor are taking investigative action against two police officials on suspicion that the same were committed criminal acts “due to the use of official position or authority”, “Pegim of the test or official procedure” and “The Office of Aids after the criminal prosecution<5>.

The investigation of this case is the continuation of the previous case investigation where the IPK has arrested a police official on suspicion that the same has committed the criminal work of “due to the use of official duty or authority” and “Manipulation with evidence” (see the IPK communicate of the 2405.2022 date below) .

Kosovo Police Inspectors of the Department of Investigations have arrested today a police official at the North Mitrovica Regional Directorate on suspicion that the same has carried out the criminal work of “Using official duty or authority” and “Manipulation with evidence”.

Police inspector today in afternoons via operational routes had admitted information that this police official allegedly damaged several security cameras and other equipment in the vicinity of the site where the joint anti-drug operation of police and customs in the village of Izvor of Zvecan took place yesterday.

After accepting this information, IPK investigators in co-ordination with the prosecution have taken investigative action, after which the alleged police official in this case was arrested this evening and the competent prosecutor's detention measure has been imposed for 48 hours.

IPK investigators in full co-ordination with the State Prosecutor will continue to take further investigative action towards full enlightenment of all the circumstances associated with the case.
