Asked by Euronews Albania at the joint news conference in Amsterdam with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Rama stressed that Serbia should not leave Russia side by side.
I've been talking to Mark and other leaders about the Open Balkans. The Balkans are the most vulnerable part of the chain that can be touched and far away, either to be broken as a result of the war in Ukraine or on the east side. Russia has a clear influence inside, has some traditional ties.
So, I believe we should take Serbia with us and not let it go from the other side. The Open Balkans have helped and so has the attitude to say things, to encourage Serbia to become part of and harmonise with sanctions, but on the other hand to understand that it needs time, that is the right attitude”, he said.
Regarding the French president's proposal for a new European political community, Rama said it would unite the Balkans at the table of discussions on internationally important topics.
