Krasniqi for price hikes: Winter will be heavy, Kurt's staying on personal trips.

Chairman PDK, Memli Krasniqi, has talked about inflation in Kosovo, which has reached 14.1 per cent. Through a Facebook post, Krasniqi has said that Kosovo is already among the states that top the list on the global level for inflation rates. He added that, therefore, every citizen [...]
Through a Facebook post, Krasniqi has said that Kosovo is already among the states that top the list on the global level for inflation rates.
He has added that, therefore, any Kosovo citizen can buy less products and provide less services.
The leader of the largest opposition party has far accused the Kurti Government, which according to him is showing neither vision nor will to take concrete measures to ease the situation.
The “at the height of the price hikes of all basic food products -- the prime minister and government he leads -- are showing neither vision nor will nor courage to take concrete measures to ease this situation” -- Krasniqi wrote.
“Rating up to triple the price of energy, costing fuel for heating, will be a very serious challenge for each family. Prices of derivatives and food are not expected to drop at all. Pandemia is restoring its intensity, and, according to the actual state, the likelihood of salary growth is too small”, it has written away.
Krasniqi has said that Kurti, in this situation, is taking time to stay abroad on personal walks, which have no results for Kosovo.
These warnings should suffice for the Government to take emergency measures today. But no. For the prime minister, who in the last 100 days has spent half of them abroad on personal trips with no results for Kosovo, the most important are emerging to be the table of debates and depletions”, Krasniqi wrote.
His full post:
As never after the war in Kosovo, inflation has risen to 14.1 percent. With this percentage, Kosovo is among the states that top the list at the global level, with the highest degree of money devaluation.
As a result, with the same inflows as until yesterday, each citizen of our country today purchases much less products and provides much less services.
Unlike other states, which have a stronger economy and through governing measures are facilitating the lives of their citizens, Kosovo citizens have remained at the mercy of fate.
At the peak of the price hikes of all basic food products -- the prime minister and government he leads -- are showing neither vision nor will nor courage to take concrete measures to ease this situation.
Unfortunately, the worst is still expected to come for our economy and our citizens. Economic analyses warn that the coming winter is expected to be extremely serious.
Growing up to triple the price of energy, the expensive heating fuel will be a very serious challenge for each family. Prices of derivatives and food are not expected to drop at all. Pandemia is restoring its intensity, and according to the actual state, the likelihood of salary growth is too small.
These warnings should suffice for the Government to take emergency measures right now. But no. For the prime minister, who in the last 100 days has spent half of them abroad on personal trips without any results for Kosovo, the most important are emerging to be the tables of debates and barren meetings.
As the Democratic Party of Kosovo, we have long proposed the removal of excises for oil and VAT for food products.
This is not just a proposal now, but an urgent request we are making to this Government to respond. The day is today. Time is now. You're already late!
