Croatian Ambassador to Commission: Haki Abazi says he tried to launch the topic of economic co-operation

Croatia's ambassador to Kosovo, Danijela Barisic, has expressed support for Kosovo's integration into the European Union and NATO membership. We have supported and continue to support Kosovo's path towards European and NATO integration and the Partnership for Peace. As for Russian aggression in Ukraine, we are grateful to Kosovo that it is listed on the right side of history, of course, as we, the EU and the US did. Like Croatia, Kosovo has imposed sanctions on Russia, both economic and political alike”, she said.
On the other hand, the commission's chairman, Hakki Abazi, said that during the discussion with the Croatian ambassador, they talked about security and defence issues in the Balkan region following the war in Ukraine.
“We talked about different topics, mainly about bilateal co-operation between Croatia and Kosovo. In the excellent relationships we have and the possibilities for these to advance further. Of course, under the new circumstances created after the unprovocationed war in Ukraine are security and regional protection issues that dominate the discussion of foreign policy as well... Of course, the topic of European integration and the topic of foreign policy. The experience of the Croatian state in the process of European integration was a central part of our joint discussion”, Abazi stressed.
Meanwhile, he said he also touched on issues of economic co-operation and the greatest presence of Croatian businesses in Kosovo.
“We tried to affect both the issues of economic co-operation and the presence of Croatian businesses and companies, as well as the opportunities the Croatian market presents to Kosovo producers and companies”, he added.
