Switzerland confirms support for Kosovo's membership in Council of Europe

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, after a long visit to the US, has travelled to Switzerland, where he is taking part in the <x0ndWorld Economic Forum” that is being held in Davos. Berset has said that the Republic of Kosovo is a top state for the Swiss Confederacy.

As ZKM reports, the expansion and deepening of co-operation for common interests and issues, such as Kosovo's socio-economic development and stability, has stressed.

Switzerland's multi-year commitment to achieving these goals, reflected in development co-operation programmes and peace support”, says the report.

The communique reportedly confirmed Switzerland's strong support for the official application of the Republic of Kosovo to the Council of Europe.

“U talked about the possibilities for sustainable economic development in Kosovo, to improve the well-being of citizens, to ensure social and economic justice, as well as the possibilities of bilateral exchange in various fields, and especially in health”, the communiqué continues.

Tutj in the communiqué said that “Prime Minister Kurti emphasised institutional stability, rule of law, the fight against crime and corruption, and positive economic indicators in the Republic of Kosovo. He targeted the Kosovo mrgata in Switzerland as an integral part for the development of our country”. +

Speaking about developments in Ukraine, Besset has said Switzerland welcomes Kosovo's clear position.

Prime Minister Kurti stressed the necessity for co-ordination and further close co-operation between the Republic of Kosovo and the democratic world, to oppose Russia's aggression, but also to face the possible impact and consequences in the Western Balkans region.
