The value of seized cigarettes is estimated to be tens of millions of euros.
This has never been a state job, but a big fraud that has been made. Today we're finishing this process. The transportation process will begin and take several days. As we promised, we will fight all kinds of crimes and mafia”, Abazovic said.
Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, Finance Minister Aleksandar Damianovic, Interior Minister Filip Azpic, Minister without Portfolio Zoran Milanic and Customs Director Rade Milosevic participated in the action.
Decisions to prevent the storage of tobacco at the Port of Tivar were taken in June and December last year by Zdravko Krivokupic's preliminary government, and the cigarette owners were given a deadline to remove them from the warehouses at the port.
After the deadline for export of tobacco products expired several months ago, Montenegro's Customs ordered authorities at the port of Tivar to seize tobacco products found in the warehouse.
Abazovic said that the aim of this action was to create a legal infrastructure, sell cigarettes and fill the state's crate from taxes. /rel
