“Welcome to hosting old friends for a reunification dinner of Kosovo's “Ekip Unity”, negotiators in Vienna's 2006/2007 talks.”, writes the ambassador for the meeting.
“While we remembered the past, the excellent leadership of Marti Ahtisaari and Kosovo's numerous achievements since then, our discussions focused on our common desire for Kosovo to realise its European and Euro-Atlantic future. ”, he adds.

In the “Unity Group” there are many known faces still dealing with politics and having decision-making positions. Among them is Gjakova chairman Ardian Gjini, LDK's first deputy chairman, Lutfi Haziri, then former President Fatmir Sejdiu, former commander KLA, Ardian Gjini, journalist Veton Suroi, former Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj, then Skender Hyseni, Blerim Shala, etc.
“The Unity Team” negotiated with a party from Serbia under the mediation of “the Contact Group” in which Martti Ahtisaari was part. They discussed Kosovo's final status, but they failed because the Serb side did not agree with the proposals. These talks preceded Kosovo's 2008 declaration of independence.
