American Ambassador invites Skender Hysen to lunch: Procrastination in Russia's interest

Hyseni says he has full reconciliation with the US ambassador that the status quo does not coincide with Kosovo and is its biggest enemy.

We made a very open and content conversation for currentity in the region, with particular emphasis on developments in Kosovo and the necessity of accelerated dialogue with Serbia. I stressed that the status quo in the reports with Serbia is Kosovo's biggest enemy today and tomorrow! With Ambassador Havenier we had full reconciliation that the status quo is against the long-term interests of Kosovo and the US”, Hyseni wrote.

He said dialogue with Serbia and the full normalisation of bilaterally recognised interstate relations is a priority of all priorities and urgency for Kosovo.

“Every stalling of dialogue and agreement with Serbia, as well as preserving the status quo is in Russia's interest, was the point for which we had full reconciliation with Ambassador Havener”.

The damage brought on Kosovo by the status quo had also been spoken by Americans who recently visited Kosovo. US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Asia Karen Donfried and American Emissary for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar brought this message to Kosovo leaders.
