Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has stated that Serbia has already made a decision regarding sanctions against Russia and that that decision has been submitted to the opinion.

That statement, Vuciq has made on 7 March, answering journalists' questions about Belgrade's stance on events in Ukraine.

After the Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24 February, Serbia backed the country's territorial integrity and at the same time decided not to join the sanctions, which the European Union imposed on official Moscow.

To lead the country under such conditions is not an easy thing. I would like to keep Serbia from the conflicts, wars and major problems”, Vuciq said on March 7th in Leskovc, responding to journalists' questions about the possible deployment of sanctions against Russia due to the war in Ukraine.

On March 2nd, Belgrade officially voted to adopt the UN General Assembly resolution, which condemns Russia's attack on Ukraine.

Serbia's president said on March 7th that due to the conflict in Ukraine, there are many actors in the current global situation who want Kosovo's accelerated accession to international organisations.

“If they were accepted into any international organisation, it would mean they broke the Washington Agreement. We would surprise them with an effective response. That day they will learn the names of several states that attracted recognition of Kosovo's”, Vuciq said, Rel reports.

Serbia's president said in Leskovc that Serbia has given up sending a protest note to Turkey about the stated stance on Kosovo's NATO entry.

We made the decision not to send a protest note to Turkey because I had a conversation with (Turkish president) Recep Tayip Erdogan and explained to me what he said, what he broadcast and made a decision not to send such a mark”, Vuciq said.

According to Turkish media, Ergodan has said on March 1st that Turkey has immediately recognised Kosovo as a state and that, according to them, it will do so even when Kosovo apply for NATO membership.

Vuciq reiterated that Serbia's goods and energy reserves are secure and that there is no need for citizens to create oil food and derivatives reserves.

Vuciq said the decision to ban wheat export from Serbia, which was warned two days ago, would be made tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

“Mulites will be allowed to export flour for some time. There will be enough wheat for the citizens of Serbia, but also for our” district, Vuciq has declared, meanwhile, as one of the problems with importing raw materials, he has cited the lack of iron and coke for the Smederevo iron plant.

Serbia's Finance Minister Sinisa Malli said on March 7th that Serbia's goods reserves are full of stock and that there is money in the state chest to buy everything necessary.

“The course is stable. If necessary, the state will react and accept the burden of any further crisis”, Malli said.

He has stressed that Serbia has enough flour, wheat, corn, fuel, rice, salt and sugar.

Moscow's attack on Ukraine has started in the early hours of February 24th.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered <x0 special operation” to demilitarise Ukraine.

The Kremlin's action has stirred anger and has been condemned in many parts of the world.

The United States and its allies have responded with severe sanctions against Moscow.
