They were carrying welcome cards, offering housing to refugees in their private homes.
The United Nations has said that more than a million people have fled Ukraine since Russia made the invasion on February 24th.
This figure makes up more than two percent of the Ukrainian population, even though some of the escaped are citizens of other countries.
