This agreement is said to predict that 15 billion cubic metres of extra natural gas will be sent from the US to the EU by the end of the year.
The European bloc has already said it will stop using Russian gas in response to the Russian occupation in Ukraine.
This implies increased imports and greater generation of renewable energy.
