In a statement, the United Kingdom Health Security Agency said the case confirmed with Lassa fever took the total number of cases of the virus to three, LadBible reports.
The statement states: “We are contacting individuals who have had close contact with cases prior to confirming their infection, to offer due assessment, support and advice. The danger to the general public remains very low. ”
The virus's infection can occur through food or household items that have been contaminated by the urine or fetches of infected mice.
Symptoms can be a headache to the pain of the throat or vomiting. However, there may also be oral bleeding, nose, or genital organs.
The World Health Organization (OBSH) says: “People are usually infected with the Lassa virus through food exposure or household items contaminated with urine or fetishes of infected Mastomies. ”
