The White House warned that Kiev could fall as Russian forces continue to advance in the city.
Kiev's “Delay is a real possibility,”, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters Friday.
“Although we see resistance on the ground, the Russian Army continues to advance towards Kiev”, she added, writes The Wall Street Journal.
American officials had estimated on Thursday that Kiev could fall within 24-48 hours.
American officials are still waiting for it to fall, but a senior defence official said Friday that Ukrainian resistance was stronger than the United States has expected.
He said Ukrainians have slowed the Russian attack on the capital.
