War in Ukraine: Minister Meheji addresses him at a request NATO for Kosovo

Defence Minister Armend Mehaj has demanded that NATO establish permanent foundations of the American Forces in Kosovo.

Through a text on the social network Facebook, he has said that establishing the permanent base is an integral need for ensuring peace, security and stability in the Western Balkans and beyond.

“Based on the reality created after Russia's military aggression in Ukraine and its reflection in the overall security environment of the Western Balkans, Europe and the World, we seek from the US and all the country's allied and partner states, accelerating the Kosovo Republic's membership process in NATO”, he wrote.

Accelerated membership of Kosovo in NATO and the establishment of the Eternal Base of the American Forces is a vital need for ensuring peace, security and stability in the Western Balkans and beyond.

Given the reality created after Russia's military aggression in Ukraine and its reflection in the overall security environment of the Western Balkans, Europe and the World, we are seeking from the US and all the country's allied and partner countries, accelerating the process of membership of the Republic of Kosovo in NATO.

The Republic of Kosovo and its citizens have testified and confirmed the strong attitude and determination that we are worthy fighters in the defense of Euro-Atlantic values of freedom, peace and democracy, the values upon which NATO stands and its mission.

This is the time for all responsible nations to rule anyone out in their common vision and before common evil.

Kosovo and its people, at this time, of common challenge, as always, stand firmly together with you on the right side of history.

Also, it is time to repeat my request now, addressing our irreplaceable allies, the United States, for establishing the American Force's Military Permanent Base, as a full guarantee of peace, security and regional stability, and beyond.

Together, we are fully aware of the challenges, threats, and potential risks, so we act today to prevent unpredictable evil from happening to the region, the continent and the globe on this side.
