Washington is attracting almost all remaining soldiers from Ukraine, the Pentagon has announced.
The move comes as tensions go and go up, leading to a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin “has ordered the temporary reposition of 160 members of the Florida National Guard”, who were in the country by “consulted and instructed Ukrainian forces”, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said in a statement.
The troops which Kirby said are withdrawing “given the safety and security of our personnel above all” will be re-assigned by the next “to Europe”.
