Emergency services found the bodies of two Austrian skiers, a 61-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man, at the clock, as their families sounded the alarm when they could not contact, the Austrian police said.
The two elderly were located in the Tirol region on Friday afternoon, and the man told a person he had contacted by phone at 15:30 that they reached the top “Breitgg”, with a height of 1,868 metres, this was their last contact, Reuters writes.
“After they could no longer be contacted, family members made an urgent call around 21:4018x1>, the police statement said.
In the next incident, which took place in Austria on Friday, an Austrian ski guide and four Swedish skiers, all men in their 40s died when an avalanche near the town of Spis, near the Swiss border, covered them completely with snow.
