Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has proposed to Russian President Vladimir Putin that Moscow continue diplomatic efforts to obtain a loan regarding security from the West.
Lavrov met Putin this morning in Moscow, writes Guardian Translation Periscopi, and told him that the Western dialogue would have to continue despite what is answered by the European Union and NATO has not been satisfactory.
The Guardian quoted Putin as asking Lavrov if there is any sense to further diplomatic efforts, and Lavrov was quoted as saying that the opportunities for talks still exist and has proposed continuing negotiations with the West.
Meanwhile, Putin has also held a meeting with Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, reports.
He has said that Russian military exercises in Belarus are complete. /Guardian/Periscope/
