For a reason, Dr. Hans Kluge mentioned the high degree of vaccine, the end of winter, and the less dangerous nature of the Omicron variant.
Speaking to reporters, he said: “This period of high defense can be taken as a trucer that can bring peace”.
His statement comes after a number of European states have ended pandemic restrictions.
This week Denmark became the first EU member to remove all restrictions, including wearing a mask.
Norway has lowered the measures, while Sweden said on Thursday it too will remove almost all restrictive measures by February 9th.
“Pandemia is not yet finished, but we are entering a completely new phase”, Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said.(BBC)./Periscopi/
