Prime Minister Albin Kurti, at the U.S.'s host ceremony of over half a million vaccines, called for mass inoculation of citizens, saying even measures against pandemic are directly dependent on the immunization of the people.
He said there are some reasons why the vaccine campaign continues to be an urgent issue of Kosovo, and one of the mains is that citizens' immunity is declining.
“Such an immune drop could create conditions for a new wave of infection. Therefore, it is vital that citizens continue to be vaccinated. Only in this way can we ensure maximum protection, as well as continue to avoid high levels of infection, respiratoryizations and life save”.
The further liquidation of restrictive measures directly depends on rising the level of vaccine. As Kosovo prime minister, I am always aware of the difficulties caused by restrictive measures in the lives of citizens, especially on the economic plains. However, in order to be able to follow the example of other countries that are removing their restrictive measures, we must first reach their vaccination level in relation to the” population.
Kurti said that to switch from a vaccine strategy plus to a single vaccine strategy, citizens must be vaccinated with two doses and, after three months from the second dose, receive that reinforcement.
Kurti added that vaccines continue to be vital in the fight against pandemic, since the only “predictability of the virus is its paralysity”.
We have no guarantee that this hope will come true. We don't know, and we don't have a way to know this right now. Mass vaccine is much more efficient”.
The prime minister said today's donation from the US makes it possible to immunize citizens and for that, expressed gratitude.
