According to police, the “halting the direction of the motor vehicle in the most frequent cases is due to non-respect of red light signals, overcoming limited speed or overcoming at banned places”, police response for Express reported.
We remember that 99 fatal accidents occurred in 2021 as 483,477 traffic tickets were pronounced.
Days earlier, the Express reported that Kosovo police have broken the record in terms of publicising fines in traffic in the month of January this year.
In police statistics granted to the Gazeta Express, it is known that 46 thousand and 904 fines have been imposed in January for various violations in traffic. Or about 20,000 more fines than in January 2021. In total, in January 2021, there were 27 thousand and 115 traffic fines.
If we translate these fines into euros, accounting for the lowest 30 euros fine, it would be that in January of this year 1,407,120 euros have been seized by fines.
