Several Russian government websites have continued to be out of office, as Russia's invasion of Ukraine is on the third day. The group of hackers “Anonymous” has claimed responsibility for attacks on Russian government websites.
The websites that are dark especially include the Kremlin and the Ministry of Defence.
The exact reasons for the interruptions are not immediately clear, but the international hackers group Anonymous has claimed to be attacking pages, CNN writes, Report Express broadcast.
“Anonymous is conducting continuous operations to keep government websites .rug offline and to promote information to the Russian people so that they may be free from Putin's state censorship machine,” said the group in a Twitter post.
On Friday, the same Russian pages appeared offline for a while, but the Kremlin denied that it was attacked by Anonymous, according to state media. It's the third day in a row, Russian websites are unattainable, at least for a period of time.
Anonymous said it is also working “to keep Ukrainian people online as best we can”.
