Finally: Hungary joins other countries with Russia's SWIFT

Hungary has said it supports Russia's closure from the Swift-border financial payment system, according to Poland's prime minister, Periscopi broadcasts.

Matthews Morawiecki said he had spoken with Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Saturday, where he had confirmed his support, reports The Guardian.

Earlier, Cyprus joined the list of countries supporting the move. It was thought that receiving Orban's support may have resulted in an obstacle to the proposal, which aims to affect Russian business and economy, as it is often seen as Vladimir Putin's closest EU ally by visiting him in early February.
